The Finale!

I'm not talking about the Stargate: Horizon season finale. In fact, I'm not talking about any television or virtual television finale in general. I'm talking about THIS BLOG!

That's right. After some serious thinking I've come to a decision to finally wrap it up, and let the blog go out with sort of a bang, rather than to just have it quietly fall into the realm of oblivion.

So before I sign off, let me give you a couple of updates on Season Four. As mentioned elsewhere, the season will kick off with a feature length premiere. And I'm not just talking about a little extended episode, it'll be almost like a little movie in the middle of the series. It'll count as two episodes (it would air as a two parter in syndication), but it'll definitely be a movie premiere. You could also look at it as a pilot. And as pilots so often do, it'll introduce a couple of new things that will become crucial to the season.

The biggest new thing would have to a NEW CAST MEMBER!

Regular or re-curring, we're not sure yet actually. This character will definitely not be in all 24 episodes, but as shown by Amanda Tapping and Season Four of Atlantis, you don't have to be in ALL episodes of the season to be a regular. Regular would just mean that this new guy would pop up in the opening credits.
And here's the twist. It's not really a new guy. Well, he'll be new to Horizon, but he's spent some time being a regular cast member on SG-1.

I know what you're thinking: Wait? What did he just say? What the heck are they doing?

Let me just say, we've spent A LOT of time thinking about this (for the past several months), and we've come to the decision that this character will fit into the Horizon universe perfectly. He's already got some great, great dynamics with one of our other regular characters. So this is our way of shaking things up a little, and following the trend of adding a new cast member at the start of Season Four (as DS9, Voyager and Atlantis have done so nicely before us).

Oh yeah, and I've also got the current title for the two hour season premiere: "The Gateway of the Gods" It'll be followed by "Usurpers," which has been renamed to "Eden." And that will be followed by "The Bunker." I have a story that I've been talking about, but haven't officially pitched yet. It's called "Tomorrow's Son," and it's a time travel story.

Well, and with that it's time for me to sign off. It's amazing to see that this blog has been going on (on and off) since June of 2005; almost exactly two years ago. It was quite a ride, but what's the saying? All good things must come to an end.

So with that, thanks for reading this blog and occasionally posting a comment. Thanks for sticking with the show. Hope you'll stay with us.

Aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnd.... that's a wrap!

Thanks again. Good night and good luck!

See you around,
Alex
